As well as our Dog-Friendly Holiday Cottage, The Bailey offers a unique option for those looking for something a bit different, in the form of our quirky but luxurious Shepherd’s Hut. Whether you’re looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life, or a romantic getaway, the Shepherd’s Hut is perfect.
The Shepherd’s Hut was custom built to our detailed specifications to accommodate two people in luxury. It has full plumbed in facilities including a plush bathroom and a beautiful fully equipped kitchen. We have fitted a log burner for cooler evenings but it has electric heating too to give you the most comfortable stay possible. Simply, it’s a one of a kind!
The Shepherd’s Hut is charmingly quaint and within its spacious interior you’ll find a stunning, modern and clean en-suite shower room, a fully equipped kitchen which includes a fridge, hob, oven, kettle, toaster and of course a kitchen sink. We’ve taken the utmost care to choose the comfiest bed we could find and also include top quality bedding to ensure you have the best night’s sleep possible. We also provide towels. The Shepherd’s Hut includes a wood burning stove which will warm you as you enjoy the stunning sunsets over sheep pastures, whatever time of year you visit.
The Bailey’s Shepherd’s Hut is found within a private section of our beautiful garden, offering a secluded and peaceful experience despite being just a stone’s throw from Skipton’s vibrant town centre, including the many cafes, the market and the ever popular Skipton Castle. A 2 minute walk along the castle wall in one direction brings you to the market square and a large variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, whilst a 2 minute walk in the other direction brings you to the entrance to Skipton Woods offering the chance to explore miles of beautiful trails, rivers, streams and lakes.
We can help you to find activities in the surrounding area too, such as a visit to Bolton Abbey, walks on the moors, bicycle routes or even a chauffeur driven tour of the Dales in one of our classic cars, including a sumptuous pub lunch.
The Shepherd’s Hut has all the facilities you need to self cater but if you fancy eating out then Skipton and it’s surroundings are very well served. From small local cafes and wonderful traditional pubs, to the critically acclaimed Angel at Hetton (a 10 minute taxi ride away) the area caters for all your possible needs. There is a Marks and Spencer’s food hall 5 minutes walk from the Hut and 2 major supermarkets in the town.
You benefit from an allocated parking space for the Shepherd’s Hut.
